Marcus Clinch

Marcus has been a foreign lawyer in Taiwan since 2000, with sixteen years in private practice and eight years in-house. He is currently the Director of Legal for a multinational company in Taiwan. Throughout his career, Marcus has shown exceptional expertise and leadership in the legal and trade sectors.

Previously, Marcus held various leadership roles, including serving as a supervisor for four years, a director for two years, and president for one year of another foreign organisation in Taiwan. His dedication to the UK/EU alcohol industry in Taiwan spanned sixteen years, during which he co-chaired and chaired the ECCT Beverage Alcohol Committee from 2007 to 2016. He actively participated in the ECCT Annual Open Door Mission to the European Commission in Brussels from 2010 to 2015, tackling industry concerns and broader Taiwan-EU trade issues. He also briefed foreign trade offices, trade associations, and government delegations on these matters.

In November 2011, Marcus represented the UK industry at the 16th UK-Taiwan Bilateral Trade Talks. He continued to support the British Office Taipei's efforts to strengthen and protect the market for UK beverage alcohol in Taiwan until he transitioned to his current role in 2016.

Marcus has been a dedicated member of the British Chamber of Commerce in Taipei (BCCTaipei), serving as a Director from 2010 to 2020. During his tenure, he contributed to the Membership Committee and the St. Andrews Day Ball Committee and supported BCCTaipei’s CSR and charitable activities. Since 2020, he has continued to serve as a supervisor, demonstrating his ongoing commitment to the Chamber's initiatives and goals.
