Company Description: Shangri-La’s Far Eastern Plaza Hotel, Taipei opened in December 1994 as Shangri-La’s first property in Taiwan and the tallest hotel in the capital city. The hotel soars 43 stories above Taipei’s flourishing business district and is an integral part of the Taipei Metro Complex. Situated on the fashionable tree-lined Tun Hwa South Road, the hotel is convenient five minutes from the Taipei World Trade Convention and Exhibition Center, 15 minutes from Taipei Songshan Airport and 45 minutes from Taoyuan International Airport. Two Mass Rapid Transit stops are located within walking distance, while a main bus stop is right outside the hotel. Extensive shopping and entertainment facilities are nearby. The hotel recently completed a NT$ 1.5 billion (approximately US$ 50 million) renovation program, upgrading all 420 guestrooms and suites, the Horizon Club Lounge, lobby, driveway as well as Lobby Court and The Cake Room. Marco Polo Lounge (38F, live acoustics and cocktails) and Lobby Court (1F, live performance and gins) feature beverage selections, afternoon tea sets and light snacks, while Li Bai Lounge (6F, live jazz, whiskies and wines) provides a wide selection of delicacies and beverages. The hotel boasts an outdoor swimming pool (7F) and a year-round heated rooftop pool (43F) overlooking the city, Taipei 101 and the surrounding mountains. The Health Club (6F) features an extensive range of fitness equipment and massages, while Qi Shiseido Salon and Spa (40F) offers a wide range of body, hair and nail treatments. Every need is met professionally and efficiently. The hotel offers 11 luxurious banquet venues.
