Speakers bio:
🔺 Walid Berrazeg, a documentary photographer and freelance photojournalist, was born in 1988 in Algeria. He has a Master's in Digital Marketing and Cybersecurity at the University of Créteil. Today, he focuses his work on the East Asia region with the main subject of social and political movements in Hong Kong and Taiwan.

Two long-term projects underway: a first around the “Revolution of the Smile” in Algeria, as well as a second in the form of a documentary entitled “Suburbia”, dealing with the sensitive suburbs of the United States where it highlights the “re-appropriation” of the street by the locals.

🔺 Samson Ellis is Bloomberg Taipei Bureau Chief since 2017. He had previously worked with Taiwan News, Formosa TV News and Discovery Channel. He first came to Taiwan to learn Chinese in 1998.

🔺 Kathrin Hille is one of the most senior Asia correspondents at the Financial Times. Currently, she covers Taiwan, regional security and technology topics with a focus on China as a Greater China Correspondent based in Taipei.

Between 2003 and 2008, Kathrin was the FT’s Taiwan correspondent. From 2008 to 2013, she was a correspondent in the Beijing bureau. She then led the FT’s Russia coverage as Moscow Bureau Chief for five years. Most recently, she returned to Taiwan in September 2018.

🔺 Kwangyin Liu has been covering energy transition, climate change, environmental issues, and the auto industry for CommonWealth Magazine since 2012. Since 2020, she is editor of CWM’s English website, which inaugurated in 2007.
