Senior Partner
Martin MacLeod is the Senior Partner at Big Food Consults, bringing over 20 years of culinary experience across 10 market-leading hotels in five countries. Originally studying engineering in Scotland, Martin’s career took a decisive turn when he discovered his passion for the culinary arts. After formal training as an apprentice at a top Seattle hotel, he embarked on a rewarding journey in the kitchen, focusing today on mentoring future chefs and creating innovative food concepts that celebrate Taiwan's natural, healthful ingredients. Martin is also an accredited hospitality professor at Hong Kuang University and has been a notable influence on Taiwan’s food scene, particularly through his work at The W Hotel in Taipei.
As a committed member of the British Chamber of Commerce in Taipei for nearly eight years, Martin initially gained recognition with his inventive haggis recipe at the St. Andrew’s Ball. He plays an essential role in organising Chamber events such as the Christmas Charity Auction and Burns Night and provides strategic insights to British food and beverage businesses entering the Taiwanese market. Through his active development of social events and networking opportunities, Martin contributes significantly to Chamber engagement and visibility in Taiwan.
