John has many years of professional experience counselling clients on their investment projects, commercial ventures, employment, litigation, and intellectual property and technology matters, within both the Asia region and across the Strait. A trusted problem solver for companies, John navigates the intersections of clients’ investments, technologies, brands, employment relations, and commercial and litigation needs. He also regularly speaks and publishes on legal and policy issues affecting the community, working closely with the UK government and the British Office on programmes to help brief UK technology companies considering entering or doing business in Taiwan.
As a father of three (Emma, Anthony, and Jake) and husband to Frances, John has been in Taiwan for over 23 years. Before attending law school, he was a journalist and has a passion for photographing and documenting Taiwan's historic sites.
John has been a longstanding BCCTaipei member and board member across multiple terms, actively contributing articles on business law, mentoring young professionals, and judging the Climate Champion Award. As a sponsor of the award, Eiger law firm has also participated in BCCTaipei's signature events like the Christmas Charity Lunch, St. Andrew's Ball, and Burns Night, showcasing their commitment to diversity and community engagement.
