Participating In Conference Calls

People like face-to-face meetings because it’s easy ‘to read’ others in the
room. As most of our communication depends on non-verbal communication,
when you are in the same room you can easily see how others react to you
and to what you are saying. Do they understand? Do they agree? Are they
interested? You can see how they react and based on their reaction, you
change how you communicate style. On a conference call, you can’t see the
facial gestures or body language of the other participants. This means you
must adjust your communication style.
