Women in Business Network Event – with guest speaker Hope Ong, Microsoft
On the evening of June 14th over 30 local and international business and professional women got together over cocktails for the British Chamber of Commerce Taipei quarterly Women in Business Network event. The event was held at the Hotel Éclat, famed for its luxury décor which includes art pieces and sculptures by contemporary artists such as Salvador Dali, Andy Warhol, Yin Jun, LI Shan and Gao Xiao Wu.
The guest speaker for the evening was Hope Ong, Senior Corporate Affairs Director, Microsoft. Hope spoke about the strategies women use to make inroads into the business and social circles dominated by their male counterparts, why women’s rights and gender equality is important to women in the workplace and Hope gave an overview of some global trends. Hope recommended the following book ‘Women Don't Ask’ …by Linda Bobcock & Sara Laschever for those who were interested to explore this subject further.
The Women in Business Network has been established to provide a structured yet fun and informal environment to bring together like-minded business and professional women form the local and international community in Taiwan.
