British Chamber of Commerce in Taipei meets with the visiting All Party Parliamentary British-Taiwanese Group Led by the Lord Faulkner of Worcester
On January 7th 2011, Directors from the British Chamber of Commerce in Taipei (台北市英僑商務協會) met for a top level meeting with the visiting All Party Parliamentary British-Taiwanese Group led by the Lord Faulkner of Worcester on January 5th.
During the meeting several topics of concern to the Chambers members were discussed. These included issues surrounding financial services, proposed reforms to student visas, intellectual property rights, greenhouse gas targets and carbon trading. As well as trade agreements and ways in which the UK can further support and facilitate the substantial business opportunities available between Taiwan and the UK.
The British Chamber asked that the All-Party Parliamentary delegation reflect to the UK Government that Taiwan is a relevant investment location in the Greater China region with many positive attributes to support further investment by UK companies wishing to do business in Taiwan.
The British Chamber delegation was led by Mr Peter Crowhurst, BCCT Chairman and comprised fellow Directors Richard Smith and Marcus Clinch. Mr Andrew Lee (李憲章) Director of the Taipei Representative Office in London (駐英國台北代表處) escorted the All Party Parliamentary British-Taiwanese delegation comprised of Lords and MPs; including the group’s Chairman the Lord Faulkner of Worcester, the Lord Rogan, Mr Brian Donohoe, MP, the Lord Grantchester and Mr Greg Hands, MP.
