The British Chamber of Commerce 2010 Royal & Ancient Charity Golf Tournament
On Friday 18th November fifteen teams turned up at the Miramar Golf and Country Club to participate in the annual British Chamber of Commerce Charity Golf Tournament. Registration started a 06.00am and teams were ready for the 7.00am Shot Gun Start. On the way round the course there were a number of novelty hole events including Between the Cabers, Longest Drive (Men and Women), Hit the Scotsman, Eagle on a Par 5, Nearest to the Pin and Nearest to the Dirk. The tournament ended with lunch and a prize giving ceremony.


Overall Winners:

First place was team HSBC; Tim Basford, Clive Bucknall, James Binns and David Marshall

Second place was team HSBC Insurance; Lee Wood, Billy Lu, Oliver Chen and Stanley Lin

Runner up was team Marta and the boys; Martha Change de Tsien, Michael Wong, Mike Lenius and Tim Paech


Winners of Novelty Holes/Events:
Nearest to the Pin – Duncan Levine, Mike Lenius and Joyce Jewell

Men’s Longest – Tony Ambrosino, Tim Paech

Ladies Longest Drive – Marta Chang de Tsien and Nora Wong

Nearest the Dirk – Oliver Chen

Eagle on the Par – Sandy Duncan and Michael Wong


The funds raised at the golf tournament will be used to support a range of relief and rehabilitation services facilitated by the Salvation Army to help homeless people in Taipei including meals, shower and changing facilities, clothing, referral to health and welfare services as well as basic life skills and employment schemes. In addition the Chamber will continue to support to Children’s SOS Village based in Taoyuan which provides care and support for abused as well as emotionally troubled children and young people.
