The British Chamber is pleased to announce that the next Women in Business Networking Event will feature guest speaker Nara McDonald, co-founder and co-director of Camp Taiwan. Nara will talk about the pleasures and challenges of starting a family business in Taiwan. She will share personal anecdotes of her venture into the green world of adventure / eco / education entrepreneurship.  The event provides a great opportunity to meet with old friends and make new ones, swap business cards, ideas and experiences. Come along have something to eat and drink and network with other local and international business and professional women in an informal and relaxed environment. About Nara McDonald

Nara McDonald is an educator whose latest project has been to bring the tradition of North American style organized camping to Taiwan.  Nara's father is a career diplomat for the Canadian Foreign Service and she grew up in Brazil, China, Pakistan, UK, Ethiopia and Kenya. From the age of six, she returned each summer to Quebec and attended

her beloved bilingual Summer Camp for girls on the banks of Lac Ouereau. Nara studied Education at Bishops University and University of Ottawa and started her career in Ottawa in Early Childhood Education working for the Ottawa Board of Education. Nara came to Taiwan to pursue her interests in teaching and administration as the
Director of an international kindergarten/preschool. 2003 was a big year of transition with her new husband Tom and daughter Emma, Nara moved from Taipei out to the northern slopes of Yangming Shan National Park to start Camp Taiwan. Now in its 8th year, Camp Taiwan provides Outdoor Education programs for many of Taiwan's International Schools. Camp Taiwan's pristine 80 acres is also a lively playground for corporate teambuilding events, weekend family camps and Taiwan's leading summer camp for kids.
