The BCCT is delighted to announce its first dedicated ‘Women in Business Network’ event featuring guest speaker Betty Miao, Head of Personal Financial Services, HSBC in Taiwan. Betty will share her experiences of managing a successful international career. The challenges she faced along the way and the important career decisions she made in order to prepare for a leadership position. Betty has worked across the globe including USA, Canada, Hong Kong, Japan, China, Vietnam and the United Kingdom.
About the Speaker – Betty Miao
Betty Miao is currently the Head of Personal Financial Services of HSBC in Taiwan. She has 19 years of international experience with the HSBC Group. Prior to her current post, she was the Deputy Head of Personal Financial Services in Taiwan. She has played a key role in HSBC’s successful acquisition and integration of The Chinese Bank, which allowed for the rapid expansion of branch network and to aggressively drive the growth of HSBC’s wealth management business in Taiwan. Before moving to Taiwan, she was seconded by HSBC to the Bank of Communications in China to take up the role of General Manager Planning & Development of Personal Financial Services. Miss Miao graduated from The Chinese University of Hong Kong with a degree in Business Administration and a post graduate from the University of Warwick. She joined HSBC’s International Management programme in 1990 and has since worked with the Group in a variety of roles in USA, Canada, Hong Kong, Japan, China, Vietnam and the United Kingdom. Miss Miao is married with two dogs which travelled with her to all the assignment postings. Her personal interests include travelling, reading and hiking.
