In celebration of Robert Burns, BCCT would like to invite everybody to a special Single Malt Whisky Dinner In the elegant yet cosy confines of the Residence III at the Grand Hyatt Taipei.
BCCT members and your guests will have a rare opportunity to taste a range of the world's most distinctive single malt whiskies along with a special six course menu specially created by Ralf Dohmeier, the executive chef of the Grand Hyatt Taipei. Chef Ralf worked with wine and whisky writer John H. Isacs to synergistically match each course with a different single malt whisky. Each whisky and distillery and dish will be introduced at the dinner. From a special welcoming cocktail prepared just for this event and with every course and whisky, attendees will be taken on a journey of some of Scotland's single malt legends that include whiskies from the Lowlands, Speyside, Northern Highlands and the Islands. Based on the ingredients, cooking methods, flavours and texture of the featured dishes, the whiskies will feature different serves, from on-the-rocks, with a splash of water, chilled to room temperature neat. Glasses of different shapes and sizes shall be used to best highlight the special attributes of the different whiskies. Attendees shall savor whiskies of a variety of different ages from distilleries including Glenkinchie, Clynelish, Singleton, Caol Ila and Talasker. Also featured at the dinner will be Queen Victoria's favourite whisky the small and exclusive Royal Lochnagar. Seating is limited so members wishing to attend should sign up soon.
