On 07 October, the British and European Chambers held a joint lunch to welcome Sir Andrew Cahn, KCMG, Chief Executive of UK Trade and Investment on his first visit to Taiwan. Sir Andrew gave an upbeat talk on how the UK has fared during the recent down turn and was realistic about the challenges that lie ahead. He also outlined the investment that London is making ahead of the 2012 Olympics and the business opportunities that this is creating. We were joined for this lively and well attended event by a delegation visiting from the UK for the Tapei Creativity and Innovation Exhibition.
