Bodegas Chandon was
established in Argentina in 1959 – the first Moët & Chandon subsidiary
founded outside France. In 1898 Terrazas and a winery in the heart of
Perdriel, province of Mendoza were restored.
The wine-making history of
Mendoza dates from 1557 when Spanish immigrants started planting vines.
Today, Mendoza province accounts for 70% of total quality wine
production.
Terrazas has the largest
vineyard landowner in Vistalba, Argentina's prime district for Malbec
production.
About the Speaker:

Gustavo Sanchez has been winemaker for Terrazas de los Andes at Bodegas
Chandon since 2005. Gustavo first joined Bodegas Chandon SA. in 2001,
and was responsible for research and development of new products in the
Enology department. In 2002, he was in charge of red wine development.
Since 2003, he has been wine communicator presenting at various events
in Argentina and around the world.
Born and raised in Mendoza Argentina, Gustavo graduated as an Agronomist
at the Universidad Nacional de Cuyo, where he also completed his studies
in Enology in 2005.
